Gadabédji Wildlife Reserve

Gadabédji Reserve is a nature reserve for animals located in the central region of Niger. The reserve covers a small area of steppe and wooded grassland in the African Sahel region south of the Aïr Mountains.
Among the most important animal species in the reserve there are some numbers of threatened giraffes, as well as Dorcas gazelle, Patas monkey, jackal, Fennec fox and various reptiles, in addition to a variety of migratory and endemic birds such as houbara bustards and vultures.
Gadabédji Wildlife Reserve was submitted in 2006 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Niger.
The area was also designated in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR) in 2017.
