Day Forest National Park
Day Forest National Park is a national park located in the Goda Mountains, west of the Gulf of Tadjoura in Djibouti. It contains the remains of a primary forest that is the only forest in Djibouti.
The vegetation of the park features the botanical patterns of the mountain forest such as ancient juniper forest, Ficus, wild olive trees, boxwoods, dragon trees, and other native plants. The forest is also characterized by the presence of unique and exceptional animals, as it includes a number of endemic bird species, especially the Djibouti spurfowl.
Day Forest National Park was submitted in 2015 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Djibouti.
