Kamna is one of the principal ancient cities of the Kingdom of Maʿin, located in Al Jawf Governorate, northern Yemen. Positioned west of the capital Qarnāwu, the city formed part of the integrated urban network that sustained the Maʿinian federal system during the first millennium BCE. Archaeological remains indicate a planned settlement with stone architecture and strong links to surrounding agricultural zones nourished by the wadis of the Al-Jawf region. Kamna played a strategic role within the kingdom by supporting agricultural production, facilitating caravan movement, and contributing to the collective defence and economic stability of the Maʿinian state.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The Cities and Landmarks of Ma’in Old Kingdom.
