      Great Mosque of AleppoGreat Mosque of Aleppo or the Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo, is the largest and one of the oldest mosques in the city of Aleppo, Syria. It was built by the Umayyad caliph Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik in 717 AD. The mosque was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 as part of the ancient city of Aleppo.
