Fort Julien or Rashid Fort is a historic fort located on the west bank of the Nile north-west of Rashid city, Egypt. It was built in 1470 AD by the Mamluk sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay. Fort Julien became famous as the place where the Rosetta Stone was found in 1799 AD.
