Al-Bab Al-Kabir
Al-Bab Al-Kabir is one of the main historic gates of the old city of Taiz, Yemen. It formed part of the city’s defensive wall system and served as a principal entrance to the city. The gate was built during the Rasulid period in the 13th century AD. The gate is located on the eastern side of the old city, and it played a significant role in controlling movement into the city and protecting it from potential threats.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The landmarks of Ta’iz City.Elevation: 1297 m
