Marawah Marine Biosphere Reserve
Marawah Marine Biosphere Reserve, or Marawah Biosphere Reserve, is a marine biosphere reserve located on Marawah Island in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The site includes many natural habitats of national and regional importance, and it is concidred a unique home to marine ecosystems, where there are seagrass, algae, coral reefs in addition to mangroves.
The Marawah Marine Reserve is a station for migratory birds and a major sanctuary for populations of the threatened dugong, and its waters harboring more than 150 species of fish.
Marawah Marine Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
