Gros Morne National Park
Gros Morne National Park is a Canadian national park and World Heritage Site located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. The park is a rare example of continental drift, with deep ocean crust and rocks from the earth's mantle exposed.
Recent glacial action has created some stunning scenery, including coastal lowland, alpine plateau, fjords, glacial valleys, high cliffs, waterfalls, and several pristine lakes. The park is characterized by its great biological richness, as the moose is the most common animal in the park, in addition to other wildlife species such as red foxes and Arctic foxes, black bears, snowshoe hares, red squirrels, lynxes, river otters and beavers, In addition to cetaceans and Harbour seals in.
Many bird species can also be found in the park, ranging from shorebirds along the seashore to bog and interior woodland birds.
Gros Morne National Park was inscribed in 1987 in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Canada.
