Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve
Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve is a national park reserve located in southernmost Haida Gwaii archipelago 130 kilometers off the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Besides its cultural significance as a home to the Haida indigenous peoples, the park is strategically located along the Pacific Migration Trail, home to nesting grounds for seabirds, as well as being an important stopover for migratory birds as well.
The park is also rich in marine mammals, including sea lions, porpoises, killer whales, and migratory gray whales (Orca).
Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve was submitted in 2004 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Canada.
