Dinosaur Provincial Park
Dinosaur Provincial Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Alberta, Canada, located east of Calgary. The park is located in the Red Deer River valley, which is known for its spectacular badland terrain and wealth of dinosaur fossils.
The park is well-known for being one of the world's richest dinosaur fossil locations. At the park, 58 dinosaur species have been unearthed, and over 500 specimens have been removed and displayed in museums across the world.
Home to nearly 500 species of life, from microscopic fern spores to large, carnivorous dinosaurs, this large fossil assemblage justifies its inclusion on the World Heritage List.
Dinosaur Provincial Park was inscribed in 1979 in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Canada.
