Yanbol Synagogue

Yanbol Synagogue, or the Bulgarian Synagogue, is a synagogue located in the Balat neighborhood of Fatih District, Istanbul, Turkey. The oldest history of the site dates back to the 15th century AD when it was founded by the Romaniote Jews from the city of Yambol in Bulgaria. The current synagogue was built in the 18th century by the Spanish Jewish community (Sephardic Jews). The synagogue was expanded and restored in the late 19th century, and today it is only opened on Jewish occasions.
