Tichitt
Tichit or Tichitt is a partly abandoned village located in central southern Mauritania in Tagant Region. It was founded in the 11th century AD. The medieval trading settlement at Tichit was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, as part of Ancient Ksour of Ouadane, Chinguetti, Tichit and Oualata.
