    Tichit or Tichitt is a partly abandoned village located in central southern Mauritania in Tagant Region. It was founded in the 11th century AD. The medieval trading settlement at Tichit was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, as part of Ancient Ksour of Ouadane, Chinguetti, Tichit and Oualata.
    The site is one of the elements that make up the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ancient Ksour of Ouadane, Chinguetti, Tichitt and Oualata.
