Tell el-Habua, also known as Tjaru, Zaru, Djaru, was an ancient Egyptian fortress on the Way of Horus, the major road leading out of Egypt into Canaan. The site, being a frontier town in an inhospitable desert region, was a place of banishment for criminals.
