Tekkiye Mosque

Tekkiye Mosque or Sultan Selim Mosque is a historic mosque complex located in Damascus, Syria. It was commissioned by Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent 1554 AD, and was built by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan. The Tekkiye Mosque was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 as part of Ancient City of Damascus.
