Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline)
The Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline), constructed in 1947, was the world's longest oil pipeline at its inauguration, spanning 1,213 km from Saudi oilfields to Sidon, Lebanon, via Jordan and Syria. Operations beyond Jordan ceased in 1976, and the rest continued until 1990. The construction of Tapline led to new settlements with housing, hospitals, schools, and other facilities for workers. It is now Saudi Arabia's first officially registered industrial heritage site, highlighting its importance in the nation's history
