    Suakin or Sawakin is a port city in north-eastern Sudan, on the west coast of the Red Sea. It was likely Ptolemy's Port of Good Hope which is similarly described as lying on a circular island at the end of a long inlet.
    The site is included on the UNESCO Tentative List under the official name, Suakin.
