St. George’s Church is a Greek Orthodox church located in the city of Madaba in Jordan. The oldest history of the church dates back to the 6th century AD during the Byzantine era, while the current church dates back to the late 19th century AD, in the year 1896 AD. The church is famous for the Madaba mosaic map, which is part of the mosaic floor of the ancient Byzantine church. The map, which dates back to 560 AD, depicts the Holy Land, especially Jerusalem.
