Sharaf is a water supply station on the pilgrim caravan route from Iraq to Mecca (Darb Zubaydah). It is located today south of the city of Kufa in the Iraqi province of Najaf. Sharaf station, which dates back to the Abbasid era, includes many wells in addition to three water basins (pools).
