Shaizar Fortress or Shaizer Castle, Qalaat Shaizar, is an ancient fortress located in Shaizer, Hama. It was first built in the 3rd century BC. It collapsed in the enormous earthquakes of 1157 and 1170 and then rebuilt by the Mameluk sultan Baibars in 1260 AD.
