Şehzade Mosque is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was ordered by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent as a memorial to his favorite son Şehzade Mehmed who died in 1543 AD. The mosque, which was designed by Mimar Sinan, was completed in 1548 AD. Şehzade Mosque was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 as part of Historic Areas of Istanbul.
