Qalaat Abu Qubays
Qalaat Abu Qubays, also known as Qartal, is is a former Byzantine medieval castle dating back to the 10th century AD. It is located in Hama Governorate, Syria. In the 11th century AD the castle became under the control of Mirdasid dynasty, an Arab dynasty that controlled the Emirate of Aleppo continuously between 1024-1080 AD. The castle was later dominated by Zengids, Ayyubids, Mamluks and Ottomans respectively.
