Paleokastra Castle is a ruined castle located on the bank of the Drino River north of the city of Gjirokastër in Gjirokastër County, Albania. It was built as a Roman fort by emperor Constantine the Great in the 4th century AD. The castle was later restored in the 5th century AD during the Byzantine era and remained in use until the 6th century AD.
