    Rufisque is a city in the Dakar region of western Senegal. The city became important in the 16th century AD as the principal port of the kingdom of Cayor, being frequented by Portuguese, Dutch, French and English traders.
    The site is included on the UNESCO Tentative List under the official name, Old Rufisque.
