    Jerash, the Gerasa of Antiquity, is the capital and largest city of Jerash Governorate, which is situated in the north of Jordan. It was the site of the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Gerasa.
    The site is included on the UNESCO Tentative List under the official name, Jerash Archaeological City (Ancient Meeting Place of East and West).
