Jebel Barkal

Jebel Barkal or Gebel Barkal is a very small mountain located in Karima town in Northern State in Sudan. The ruins around Gebel Barkal include at least 13 temples and 3 palaces, and it served as a royal cemetery during the Meroitic Kingdom. The site was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 as part of Gebel Barkal and the Sites of the Napatan Region.
