    Grand-Pré is a historic area located in Nova Scotia, Canada. The area is recognized for its association with the Acadian people, an ethnic group descended from the French who settled in the colony of New France in Acadia during the 17th and 18th centuries AD. The area was a prosperous farming village until the Great Expulsion of 1755, when British forcibly expelled Acadians from the region. Grand-Pré area represents Acadian culture and the challenges they faced, and it includes a memorial church as well as sculptures and landscapes commemorating Acadian history. Grand-Pré was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012 in recognition of its significance in conserving Acadian heritage and the story of resilience in the face of displacement.
