The Erbil Citadel is a historical citadel located in the city center of Erbil in the Erbil Governorate of Iraq. It is dating back to the Assyrian period, and was later rebuilt and renovated several times among its long history. The Citadel of Erbil was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
