Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Church of the Resurrection or Church of the Anastasis, is a church located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. The church, which is dating back to at least the 4th century AD, contains the two holiest sites in Christianity (the site where Jesus of Nazareth was crucified and the site of Jesus' empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected). During its long history the church was destroyed and rebuilt several times. The church was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981 as part of Old City of Jerusalem and its Walls.
