Al Rashid Mosque is a historic mosque and the first mosque built in Canada, located in Edmonton, Alberta. It was constructed in 1938 AD by Muslim immigrants of Lebanese and Syrian descent who had settled in the area in the early 20th century. The local community, including support from non-Muslim neighbors, contributed to its construction. The mosque became a central hub for religious, social, and cultural life for Muslims in Western Canada. The original building was saved from demolition and relocated to Fort Edmonton Park, where it was reopened in 1992 AD as a preserved heritage site.
