Al Reem Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located in northwest Qatar. The reserve generally consists of plain lands interspersed with some hills, where mud flats, saline swamps and sabkhas are spread along the coastal areas, while hills and gravel plains are mostly found in the interior parts of the reserve.
The reserve provides a successful example of the resettlement of animals in their natural habitats, such as deer and ostrich species, and includes many palm farms.
Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
Designation date: 2007
