Khor Al-Adaid Natural Reserve

Khor Al-Adaid, also Khawr al Udayd, or the Inland Sea is a nature reserve located in southeast Qatar near the border with Saudi Arabia. The area is a saltwater inlet, that goes into land.
It is surrounded by desert and sand dunes and is characterized by its distinct natural landscapes. Khor Al-Adaid Natural Reserve is an uninhabited area that includes diverse native terrestrial flora and fauna along with a diverse marine ecosystem that is sensitive to tides.
Fauna includes many rare and threatened species such as the dugong (sea cow) and turtles, with groups of migratory birds of national and regional importance.
Khor Al-Adaid Natural Reserve was submitted in 2008 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Qatar.
