Abu Dhabi Sabkha
Abu Dhabi Sabkha is a saline land and coastal sabkha located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The sabkha is located above the current tidal level, and due to the high temperature and strong evaporation, the sabkha is characterized by the presence of a salt crust that is very rich in mineral salts.
The sabkha is considered a natural habitat for halophytic herbaceous plants and mangroves, and several animal species including crustaceans and mollusks live in it.
Abu Dhabi Sabkha was submitted in 2018 to the UNESCO Tentative List in UAE.
