    Turmanin Monastery is an ancient basilica built around 480 AD. It was an important influence on later church architecture, and operated as a monastery and a hospice that was noted for its care for the dying. Turmanin Monastery was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of Ancient Villages of Northern Syria in 2011.
    The site is one of the elements that make up the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ancient Villages of Northern Syria.
