Tsitsamuri
Tsitsamuri

Tsitsamuri is a small village located outside Mtskheta, Georgia. Near the village a ruined acropolis of ancient Iberia was unearthed in 1953. It is to be identified with the Zaden-tsikhe (the fortress of Zaden) of the medieval Georgian chronicles. This fortress and a possible pagan temple were overlooked by Mount Zedazeni where later a Christian monastery was built.
