Siga is an important archaeological site located in Ain Témouchent Province, northwestern Algeria. Originally founded as a Numidian city, Siga later developed into a Roman port and urban settlement along the Mediterranean coast, reflecting its long-standing strategic and commercial significance. The site preserves remains from multiple historical phases, illustrating the transition from indigenous North African polities to Roman rule. Among its most notable monuments is the mausoleum traditionally attributed to King Syphax, ruler of the Masaesyli tribe of western Numidia during the 3rd century BC, making Siga a key site for understanding Numidian political power and early Mediterranean interactions.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The Royal Mausoleums of Ancient Algeria (from the 4th Century BC to the 6th Century AD).
