Samtavro Monastery

Samtavro Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located in Mtskheta, Georgia. It was built in the 4th century AD by King Mirian III of Iberia. Later it was reconstructed in the 11th century AD by King George I and Catholicos-Patriarch Melkisedek. The monastery was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 as part of the historical monuments of Mtskheta.
