Sadd Al-Aqrab
Sadd Al-Aqrab is an old dam located near Taif in Makkah Region, Saudi Arabia. It is a 113 m long, 4 m high, and 5 m wide dam. The dam, which is built with two parallel stone walls filled with rubble. Sadd Al-Aqrab includes three low water diversion walls and a distinctive 0.8 m wide central water channel lined with flat stones. Nearby, an old town and a cistern connected to an active qanat system highlight its historical water management role.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, Water Management in Saudi Arabia: The Ancient Dams.Location is ApproximateElevation: 1440 m
