Red Monastery is a Coptic Orthodox monastery located near the city of Sohag, Egypt. It is thought to have been built in the 4th century AD by an Egyptian saint called Pishay. The monastery, which derived its name from the color of red bricks of its outside walls, is considered one of the most famous Christian monasteries in Egypt.
