    Milas is a city located in Muğla Province in southwestern Turkey. The city was the first capital of ancient Caria and of the Anatolian beylik of Menteşe in medieval times. The ancient city remains include Uzunyuva (Roman Temple of Augustus), Gümüşkesen (Roman chambered tomb monument) and several Carian tombs.
