    Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. It was the capital of Ancient Egypt for over eight consecutive dynasties during the Old Kingdom. Memphis was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, as part of Memphis and its Necropolis - the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur.
    The site is one of the elements that make up the UNESCO World Heritage site, Memphis and its Necropolis – the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur.
