    Mahdia is a coastal city located in Tunisia. The Islamic city of Mahdia was founded by the Fatimids under the Caliph Abdallah al-Mahdi in 909 AD. The city has many monuments, the most important of which are the Great Mosque, the old port and the Ottoman Tower.
