    Hamdullahi, also known as Hamdallaye, is a small town or city located in the Mopti region of Mali. The city was founded in 1820 AD by Seku Amadu, a sheikh from Fulani people who established the Massina Empire at the beginning of the 19th century AD. Hamdullahi was the capital of the Massina Empire, where its remaining ruins today include a group of city walls, in addition to the mosque and the Seku Amadu Palace.
    The site is included on the UNESCO Tentative List under the official name, The Historic City of Hamdallahi.
