Great Mosque of Mahdiya is a historical mosque located in the coastal city of Mahdia in Tunisia. It was built in 916 AD by the Fatimids Caliph Abdallah al-Mahdi after he founded the city of Mahdia in 909. The mosque has been restored and renovated several times throughout its long history, the most important of which were during the Ottoman era and the last between 1961 and 1965.
