Great Mosque of Constantine

The Great Mosque of Constantine is a historical mosque located in the historic heart of Constantine in Algeria. The construction of the mosque dates back to 1135 AD, during the rule of the Hammadid dynasty, which was a branch of the Sanhaja Berber dynasty that ruled Algeria between 1014 and 1152. The mosque has undergone many expansions and renovations during its long history. Including during the Ottoman era in 1766, and during the French occupation of Algeria. The last restoration work was carried out over the past few years.
