Gölpınar Dam

Gölpınar Dam, also known as the Alacahöyük Dam, is a Hittite dam from the second millennium BC located near Alaca Höyük in Çorum Province in central Turkey. A Hittite inscription in Luwian hieroglyphs found during excavation of the area indicates that the structure was dedicated to the Hittite goddess Ḫepat. The dam is believed to have been built around 1240 BC.
