Emir Şaban Mosque
Emir Şaban Mosque is a historical mosque located in the city of Çukurca in the Turkish province of Hakkâri. The foundation of the mosque dates back to the Rashidun Caliphate period in the year 635 AD, when Emir Şaban (Prince Shaaban), one of the leaders of the Islamic army under the leadership of Abd Allah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab, built the mosque and explained Islam to the local population at the time. The mosque was rebuilt and restored several times during its long history, the last of which was in 2020 when it was completely restored.
