Dura-Europos House Church
Dura-Europos House Church is an ancient church and the first house church in the world. The ruins of the church are located within the archaeological site of Dura-Europos, on the banks of the Euphrates River in the Syrian governorate of Deir ez-Zor. The church, which dates back to the year 232 AD, includes a group of frescoes, the most important of which is the one that considered the earliest depictions of Jesus Christ. (Preserved today at Yale University Art Gallery).
