Ba’ja
Ba’ja is an archaeological site located in the Ma’an Governorate of Jordan. It is dating back to around 7000 BC. This ancient village is a prominent example of the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B (PPNB) period and is among the largest Neolithic villages in the region, offering insights into early settlements near the ancient city of Petra. Significant finds at the site include dwellings and an ossuary—a small chamber measuring 0.6 square meters, containing a fresco with abstract motifs and geometric shapes, as well as a tomb holding the bones of three adults and nine children.
