    Apollonia is an ancient city located in Fier County, Albania. It was founded in 588 BC by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth. The city thrived in the Roman era and became a home to a famous school of philosophy. The ruins include the Greek theater, the Nymphaeum, the Roman temple, the Odeon, the Library, the Arch of Triumph and the Temple of Diana and Prytaneion. In addition to several buildings from Hellenistic and Roman periods paved with well-preserved mosaics.
    The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The Ancient City of Apollonia.
