Ancient Cotta is an ancient Roman city located on the Atlantic coast, west of Tangier in Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima in northwest Morocco. The history of the city dates back to the 1st century AD, when it was a center for salting and fermenting fish. The city was later abandoned in the 3rd century AD.
